Title:   C, C++, and Java Programmer/Analyst – Nulogx Transportation Suite

General Group/Project Description:

The Nulogx Transportation Suite is logistics solution that enables companies to procure, plan, execute and monitor freight movements across multiple modes, borders and enterprises. The Nulogx solutions for logistics optimization are designed to create value by synchronizing the critical transportation and distribution business processes, resulting in optimal cost and service performance.

We are seeking a C, C++, and Java Programmer/Analyst who is capable of developing technically complex software products, from concept through to delivery and maintenance. The Programmer/Analyst will enhance our current portal and optimization systems, and may also create other J2EE web and workflow applications. This will be a full range position, from assisting in determining key requirements and enhancements, through to coding and testing of appropriate work. This individual must demonstrate up-to-date knowledge, flexibility, and the ability to work to time pressures on multiple projects with limited supervision. The position reports to the Development Manager.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Provide technical input, and develop and  maintain Nulogx solutions
• Code and test software to meet business requirements in keeping with established processes and standards
• Troubleshoot customer issues and provide successful solutions and workarounds
• Make suggestions for and plan for future product releases
• Work with various groups within the company to further define requirements for enhancement and changes to the current and new products
• Debug and unit test modules before deployment to QA environment
• Determine and identify appropriate technologies to be used
• Assist in developing technical project schedules, plans, task assignments and time estimates
• Provide senior staff with full communication of project progress

 Essential Skills and Experience:

• BSC in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience
• Expert level knowledge of C, C++, and Visual C++ (Minimum 3-5 years)
• Expert level knowledge of Java, J2EE, and other Web technologies (Minimum 3-5 years)
• Understanding of Web developments such as portlets and portals
• User Interface/GUI development experience
• Knowledge / exposure to all aspects of software development life cycle, processes and project management
• Customer facing experience
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Strong ‘can do’ attitude and personality

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in the following:
• WebSphere development, application structure, packaging, and deployment
• WebSphere Webfacing technology
• WebSphere Portal, Portlet Factory, and Dashboard Framework technology
• Rational Software Developer environment
• Working knowledge of RPG ILE, RPG Freeform
• AJAX, PHP
• Experience in consulting and customer management
• Understanding of Transportation and Logistics technologies, including areas such as Load Planning, Consolidation, Optimization and Freight Management
