General Group/Project Description:
The Nulogx Transportation Suite is an IBM iSeries based logistics solution that enables companies to procure, plan, execute and monitor freight movements across multiple modes, borders and enterprises. The Nulogx solutions for logistics optimization are designed to create value by synchronizing the critical transportation and distribution business processes, resulting in optimal cost and service performance.

We are seeking a Senior Java/WebSphere Programmer Analyst. The individual in this position will be an integral member of our team, and will manage our Web applications from design through to further development. The Programmer/Analyst will enhance our current portal, transportation, and optimization systems, and will also create other J2EE web and workflow applications. This will be a full range position, from determining key requirements and enhancements, through to coding and testing of appropriate work. This individual must demonstrate up-to-date knowledge, flexibility, and the ability to work to time pressures on multiple projects with limited supervision. The position reports to the Director of Research & Development.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design, development, delivery and maintenance of all Web solutions
• Act as a subject matter expert on all Web and Websphere technologies
• Write technical specifications and oversee the coding/testing of software to meet business requirements
• Assist in leading the future of the solution and the development of the team
• Design and deploy our web and portal solutions to our customers during implementations
• Work with product marketing and other groups within the company to further define requirements for enhancement and changes to the current and new products
• Develop code in keeping with established processes and standards
• Debug and unit test modules before deployment to QA environment
• Determine and identify appropriate technologies to be used
• Assist in developing technical project schedules, plans, task assignments and time estimate
• Provide senior staff with full communication of project progress

Essential Skills and Experience:

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience
• Strong technical skills with Java, J2EE, JSF, WebSphere, and DB2
• Recent involvement in IBM activities and new products
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the following:
• WebSphere development, application structure, packaging, and deployment
• WebSphere Webfacing technology
• WebSphere Portal, Portlet Factory, and Dashboard Framework technology
• Rational Software Developer environment
• Knowledge / exposure to all aspects of software development life cycle, processes and project management
• Customer facing experience
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Strong ‘can do’ attitude and personality
• Ability to positively lead a technical team

Desirable Skills:

• Working knowledge of RPG ILE, RPG Freeform, and C++
• AJAX, PHP
• Experience in consulting and customer management
• Understanding of Transportation and Logistics technologies, including areas such as Load Planning, Consolidation, Optimization and Freight Management
