Nulogx TMS is an IBM iSeries based Logistics optimization solution that can enable companies to procure, plan, execute and monitor freight movements across multiple modes, borders and enterprises. Nulogx’s solutions for logistics optimization are designed to create value by synchronizing the critical transportation and distribution business processes, resulting in optimal cost and service performance.

We are seeking a dynamic RPG Programmer who is capable of developing technically complex software products, from concept through to delivery and maintenance, working closely with customers, the marketing team, and sales team. The position reports to the Product and Development Manager. There are opportunities for growth and leadership roles for strong candidates.

Principal responsibilities:

• Provide technical input, and develop and maintain Nulogx solutions
• Code and test software to meet business requirements in keeping with established processes and standards
• Troubleshoot customer issues and provide successful solutions and workarounds
• Make suggestions for and plan for future product releases
• Work with product marketing and other groups within the company to further define requirements for enhancement and changes to the current and new products
• Debug and unit test modules before deployment to QA environment
• Determine and identify appropriate future technologies to be used
• Assist in developing time estimates for work projects
• Attend regular project technical team meetings
• Provide senior staff with full communication of project progress

Essential skills and experience:

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience
• Expert level knowledge of RPG/400, RPG ILE and free form RPG
• Knowledge / exposure to all aspects of software development life cycle, processes and project management
• Understanding of Transportation and Logistics technologies, including areas such as Load Planning, Consolidation, Optimization and Freight Management
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Strong ‘can do’ attitude and personality

Desirable skills:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in software product development, preferably gained in one or more of the following products and areas: transportation, logistics or supply chain
• Knowledge and exposure to IBM iSeries technologies
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Average level knowledge of languages such as Java and C
