This presentation will cover the latest business strategy and developments for System i  and i5/OS.  You'll see how the System i Express 515/525 have transformed IBM's offerings for mid-sized enterprises to support today's solutions portfolio.   Find how you can take advantage of open source skills by running PHP and MySQL on i5/OS.  Hear about the new DB2 Web Query product that opens new opportunities for deploying business intelligence applications on i5/OS.  You'll also get a sneak preview of the upcoming new i5/OS V5R5 release, with major enhancements right across the system.  And finally, you'll hear about the processor roadmap for System i and the introduction of POWER6-based products.

Bio:

Ian Jarman is the worldwide IBM System i Product Manager, based in Rochester, Minnesota. Responsible for setting System i product strategy and launching new products, Ian is a frequent speaker at user, ISV and Business Partner conferences around the world.  Prior to this appointment, Ian led the System i strategy for server consolidation, introducing i5/OS Logical Partitioning and Windows virtualization technologies. Ian began his career as a systems engineer in the United Kingdom before moving to the U.S. in 1991 to work in the IBM AS/400 development laboratory.

Enslow is also a lecturer on supply chain management at York University’s Schulich School of Business’ Executive Education Centre in Toronto.

Enslow has spoken at hundreds of industry events, including APICS, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, DC Expo, Eye for Transport, and Supply Chain & Logistics Canada. She is a frequent contributor and quoted expert for such publications as CIO, CFO, DC Velocity, Global Logistics & Supply Chain Strategies, Journal of Commerce, Logistics Management, and Supply Chain Management Review.
