Nulogx Transportation Management software release 5.3 adds new features and a clear path to version 6.0

Richmond Hill, Ontario – February 15, 2005 – Nulogx Inc., a developer of supply chain execution (SCE) software and consulting services company, today announced the launch of version 5.3 of its Transportation Management product suite. This is the first release since Nulogx acquired the intellectual property for the IBM i5 eServer based products from i2 Technologies in May 2004.

Nulogx Transportation Management software supports all the activities necessary to manage and execute the full lifecycle of the transportation process - from order management to financial settlement. The two major applications, Transportation Control and Transportation Optimize, were reinforced with numerous business features including refined methods of rating and routing, and improved controls that enable users to rapidly respond to complex customer requirements.

Examples of some of the new features include enhanced movements functionality, support for multiple optimizers, and drop sequencing for multi-loads.

Enhanced Movement Tracking
This new functionality enables users to track events such as shipment legs added or removed from the load, payable vouchers generated or reversed, and carrier invoice approved for payment. This significantly improves the history maintained for each shipment leg and load processed by Transportation Manager, which allows the user to quickly assess the load status.

Multiple Optimizers
Transportation Optimize considers the entire shipment plan and applies all operational and physical constraints, leveraging sophisticated solving techniques to automatically build the most cost effective loads. The system automatically routes and rates the load, calculates all associated costs, analyzes existing loads and combines them with new ones to form a cost effective transportation solution.

Multiple Optimizers enhancement allows up to nine Transportation Optimize servers to be linked to a single Transportation Control system. This enables companies that manage high-volumes of shipments for multiple customers, company divisions, or geographic regions that require different optimization strategies. This also enables users to execute multiple optimization strategies simultaneously, ensuring expedient customer service.

Drop sequencing for multi-load movements
Transportation Optimize has been enhanced to respect the constraint that a drop to a specific consignee might need to be sequenced as either first or last. This allows users to define particular consignees as either the first or last drop on a load. This will improve dock scheduling and customer service.

With version 5.3 completed, Nulogx is focused on delivering the next generation of software for Transportation Management. Some key changes customers should expect to see are an extended implementation of the product’s web interface, providing broader access across the supply chain enterprise. Other enhancement plans include proactive event notification with a “dashboard” interface for rapid and intuitive service management.
